Creating a Hyperlink
July 18th, 2007I've created a short video showing how to create a hyperlink (or a "link" as it is commonly called.)
You can find it here:
Hyperlinking Keywords
May 9th, 2007It is generally considered better to hyperlink keywords rather than simply using a URL as a link. Hyperlinked keywords are usually referred to as "anchor text."
So, for example, let's say I am creating a post about "self serve blogging" and I want to point this link to a specific page:
http://www.linknet-promotions.com/subscribe.php
Rather than simply using this address as your link, it is more effective to use a link like this:
Why?
Because this associates the target page with "self serve blogging", and tells the search engines that is what the page is about. So it increases the chances that your target page will come up in searches for "self serve blogging."
Titles are Important
January 29th, 2007Jan 29, 2007 - Titles - Making Effective Blog Posts 1 - by Rick Hendershot
Here are some suggestions for making your titles more effective:
1. Put your most important keyword (MIKW) in the title.
2. Keep your titles relatively short - 5-8 words.
3. Make your titles interesting - people read them too.
4. Don't use the same title all the time. For example, if your MIKW is "digital gadgets" vary your titles like this:
- Digital Gadgets Still Popular Favorites
- Digital Gadgets You Must Have
- Top 10 Digital Gadgets
- Green Digital Gadgets Hot This Year
etc.
5. Don't use the same keyword in all your titles. Remember, keywords are "search terms" - phrases that people use to find your type of product. Not everyone uses the same thing. If you haven't done it already, do a keyword analysis to find other relevant keywords. For example: digital gadgets, electronic gadgets, digital products, etc.

How Often Can I Post at Linknet2.com
November 14th, 2006The objective of Linknet2 is to keep your message in front of the search engines and build a relationship between your site(s) and your most important keywords.
With Linknet2.com you can emphasize different keywords in each blog post. So, for instance, if you have three different products -- Green Widgets, Blue Widgets, and Red Widgets -- you should create optimized posts for each of these products. You may want to have these linked both to your home page and to your unique product pages.
And you can use each of the five blogs to promote each of these products, because each of the blogs is a unique website in the eyes of the search engines, and each of them is syndicated on different pages. That makes 15 different posts.
As far as "frequency" is concerned...
we recommend that you re-post for the same product in the same blog roughly every two weeks. Why? Because as other members post for their products, yours will move down the list and eventually fall off the 1st page of the blog into the archives where it is much less effective. It will also fall off the syndicated versions for the same reason.
So "refreshing" your posts is important, to keep it in front of the search engines.
On the other hand, "spamming" the blogs will not be tolerated. If we find the same blog being used to promote the same product on the same day we will delete the oldest post(s). If this happens continually we will suspend the member in question.
If you have further questions, make a comment at the end of this post.
Members Can Promote as Many Sites as They Want
November 7th, 2006Linknet2.com is a "community" of online entrepreneurs. The objective of Linknet2 is to give members effective promotional tools.
The most important tools are the 5 core blogs that make up Linknet2. After members register they are given access to use these blogs to promote their products and services. Members create their own posts -- as many as they want, and as often as they want.
Blogging at Linknet2 is an effective means of self-promotion because it puts your message in front of other members and in front of the search engines. This enhances your site in the eyes of the search engines and improves your search ranking. That means more people will find your site. In other words, you will get more traffic.
Plus, the effectiveness of your message is multiplied many times over because RSS feeds of each of these blogs is syndicated on at least 25 other websites. Among other things, this creates links pointing back to the websites featured in your blog posts.
